Timmy Time Books
Timmy Time Books are some of my 2 year old grandson's favorites. The pictures are bright and colorful and the stories are such fun.

I-er.. my daughter- loves this show!!

Nevada v. Killa Diz [HD]

Love this show!!!
This show was entertaining and unexpected. The characters were great. Jim Belushi and Jerry O'Connell interacted well. There are a bit of humor interjected appropriately to break up the drama. Its a shame they didn't renew this show.

American Masters: Johnny Carson: King of Late

A Comprehensive Carson Biography That Expertly Balances The Personal With The Professional
The great Johnny Carson is, of course, the perfect subject to be profiled in PBS's long-running "American Masters" series. An intensely private person, perhaps it was fitting and respectful that they waited a full seven years after his death before putting together this pretty comprehensive biography. Carson, to me, was always an extremely complicated and enigmatic man. He was uncomfortable disclosing the personal side of his life, and yet somehow managed to create a TV persona that you welcomed into your home on a nightly basis. He was a comfort, a friend, a routine. He changed the landscape of television talk shows, was (and is) beloved by the industry and the public, but was always wary of revealing his true self. It's a complicated dichotomy, and one that this profile attacks head-on. Having seen so many of the "American Masters" series, this may well be one of my favorites.

"King of Late Night" works on a number of different levels. It spends, obviously, a...

The King of Late Night shown "warts and all" - Funny moments as well as the "demons" in his life.
My fellow Amazon reviewer, K Harris, has already done a fine detailed review of this two-hour documentary which aired earlier this year on PBS' American Masters series, so I won't repeat much of what he has already written but I hope to add some info re: the Standard DVD release of the film.

I have to admit that I was not a REGULAR viewer of Carson's Tonight Show but certainly watched it a few times each year. And I have seen all the "Specials" where they replay classic moments like the Ed Ames' tomahawk sequence or what was probably the funniest answer to a Carnac the Magnificent question. (Both of those moments are repeated here, along with some - such as the one night that Ed McMahon showed up drunk. - that I didn't remember.

There's a nice balance of "funny" and "serious" in the film and so don't expect to laugh all the way through. Carson had many personal "demons" (his relationship with his mother - and his four wives - are just a few). But...

Heeere's Johnny!
A marvelous insight into this great entertainer. Nobody has replaced him. Much of his personal life is revealed along with wonderful clips from the Tonight show. Truly a must see.

Woman Hater

Enjoy the charm...
What is charm? Charm is that charisma that draws you to a thing, that almost indescribable something that makes one buoyant and full of joy. Woman Hater is pure charm. Despite its rather dubious title, it is a romantic comedy and one of those pictures that they just don't make anymore. True, the plot or variations thereof have been used countless times in motion pictures; however, this one remains fresh and effervescent. The script is top-notch and the cast is so good and throws themselves into the proceedings with such élan that one cannot help but feel charmed by the entire affair. Stewart Granger is a wonderful comedian - with all of his dramatic roles and swashbucklers, one forgets how good and versatile this actor was. Edwige Feuillere, a great star of the Comedie Francaise, is Granger's leading lady - and what a lady she is! One is constantly amazed at Feuillere's performance - effortless and truly brilliant. These people could really act - not just read lines,...

Woman Hater
Good film. Early Stewart Granger. Maybe not as polished as current movies; but well worth watching. I enjoyed it a lot.

Carry On Double Feature Vol 8: Carry On Behind & Carry On England

The "new" carry on gang.
This must be one of the last films made , because it DOES NOT have the usual gang in it. It's ok, but Certainly not one of my favorites.

Gotta love English Humor
The English humor is much, much different than ours, which makes it more the better. The Brits come very close to obscenity, but never cross that line.

Carry On
Forgotten how funny these movies were. Remember watching them as a kid back in England and they still make me laugh today. An absolute CLASSIC!!!

Leverage: The Fourth Season

The "con" in "consequences"
This was such a good season! Nate sees that his victories against the rich and powerful are being tracked by an outside party who stands to undeservedly gain from their good deeds.

This season follows the same formula as previous ones: a unique job for each episode, a season long villain, an appearance by sterling, flashbacks, funny banter between characters, single season story arc, two part finale, and, of course, they blow shit up.

I recommend this show to anyone and everyone. If you're like me and tired of lame network programming that consists entirely of reality competition shows, Leverage is your answer. Each episode is like a new game or puzzle that lets you try to figure out just how they pulled off their con at the last minute.

Best Yet!
Season 4 was the best season so far. I loved everything about it. The characters now have really bonded and matured, they have really learned to trust one another. I hope Leverage stays on for years to come. Even when I don't enjoy the con I love to see how they interact to make it work. So glad I stumbled upon this show.

EXCELLENT
THis season was well done and though it was sad, it still moves in the right direction. I like that they keep bringing in reoccurring characters. Would like to see Detective Banano more, and Sterling.

WWE: No Way Out 2012

Someone's Getting Fired
World Champion Sheamus vs. Dolph Ziggler - Holy WrestleMania Batman!!!...seriously we almost had an exact repeat of Mania with the World Title match going on first, Dolph getting a kiss, and almost it being the death of him in this match. Sheamus grounded Dolph & even shoved him off the ropes to the floor at one point before Dolph regained the advantage & worked over Sheamus' neck with various super DDT's including a swinging version, Fameasser, and a face plant off the top rope. Dolph continued to work over Sheamus with attempts at the sleeper with Sheamus being about to keep countering the hold into moves like the back breaker & White Noise. This was a competitive match between both men who are heavily underrated in regards to not only their positions on the card but in the company.

Tuxedo Match: Santino Marella vs. Ricardo Rodriquez - I could try to review this match but what's the point? It was a bad attempt at comedy between these two characters to the point where...

VERY GOOD EVENT
WWE
NO WAY OUT 2012

1.[WORLD TITLE]SHEAMUS VS DOLPH ZIGGLER-this was a great opening match in my opinion with two underrated guys. The action here was fast paced and even made it look like a Wrestlemania repeat for Sheamus with Vickie Kissing Dolph and it almost being over. Dolph really looked great here controlling a large portion of the match delivering all kinds of moves. Sheamus of course is more of the power wrestler and retains his title after a great showing from both.

2.[TUXEDO MATCH]SANTINO MARELLA VS RICARDO RODRIGUEZ-this match of course was the comedy match that really didn't deliver much. It did make me laugh a few times like the Alberto Roo's.

3.[I-C TITLE]CHRISTIAN VS CODY RHODES-now back to the real action we are treated to another great match between two more guys who are underrated. In this match Cody is looking to get the title back he lost. Cody comes aggressive in this match working Christian over but Captain Charisma is no...

People Power is No More!!!
This is a PPV you should get just for one thing. The end of People Power! The show had some great matches, but we all new it was all about the main event! The Steel Cage between John Cena VS The Big Show: if Cena loses, he is fired. But if The Big Show loses, John Laurinaitis is fired! We all came and just watched to see this results. This was a totally classic event because after this match, it became like Project X.

Bonanza: The Official Third Season, Vol. 1

A great series
I watched these shows the first time around and I still enjoy them. Season three is one of the best. Great picture quality.

Go Cartwrights
This is a great DVD and reminds me that good can win over evil and that doing the right thing is always important.

Release FULL Season Sets!
Being a Bonanza fan for as long as I have, I'd appreciate it greatly if CBS/Paramount would hurry up, and release Seasons 4-14 in FULL Season sets! Stop cheating us fans, by releasing half season sets just to make more money. We Baby Boomers would like to own the Complete series on DVD before we're Dead. Release Season 4 shortly after Season 3 in a Full Season. Also, Remaster the picture quality like Season 1 , and lower your prices. We aren't Bill Gates!! I'd gladly pay $30.00 per season, but anything above that without lots of goodies & efforts is pushing it! Do it right or sell the rights to Shout! Factory so they can.

Embracing The Goddess - Yoga For Pregnancy

Best prenatal yoga video
I have been practicing yoga for over 10 years and have continued to do yoga during my pregnancies, taking regular yoga classes up to 37/38 weeks (with some modifications). This is hands-down the best prenatal yoga dvd that I have done, because there is actually a workout involved. A lot of prenatal yoga videos that I have tried are so gentle that there is little-to-no workout, and I wonder what is the point? This workout does not really raise your heart rate, but involves stretching and some strength building, all relevant to being pregnant and preparing you for labor. I highly recommend this dvd for anybody in their late second or third trimester. (And no previous yoga experience is needed.)

Must have practiced Yoga!
I feel bad giving this one star as someone which many hours put into practicing yoga probably would enjoy it. I'm 6 months and have been doing prenatal videos the whole time and still couldn't keep up with this one. This video has must more deep deep stretching/twisting that I would be fascinated to find the average pregnant woman be able to do.

Again, if you're incredibly flexible still in your pregnancy and/or want a really challenging video go for it. If your trying to just get a good stretch and relatxation that works for your body try another video like the Heather Seiniger or Desi Bartlett ones!

Pregnancy yoga workout with both challenging poses and stretching.
This was a nice yoga workout. I liked that it was not too long, but I still felt benefit from it. You get in some nice stretching, but there are also a few challenging poses (goddess-work those thigh muscles for labor)! At fifteen weeks my belly is still small enough to do all the poses easily, but the narrator walks you through modifications for later in your pregnancy. Depending on your level of practice, yoga blocks would be helpful. This is also a great deal at just $1.99 to rent it for seven days! I think I will go ahead and purchase it after the 7 day rental is up.

The Bold and the Beautiful -- Most Shocking Moments (2 DVD Set)

Could have been better.
Pre-ordered this and it arrived quickly. Disappointed though at the selection of what is considered 'shocking'. Given their history, Brooke and Stephanie deserve their own dvd set. Disappointed there wasn't more of those two. There's been too much good dialogue and disputes between those two talented actresses not to dedicate an entire dvd set to them.

I was most disappointed there wasn't one single episode that covered any of Sheila Carter's time on the Bold and the Beautiful. No confrontation/fashion show dream sequence when Sheila first crossed over? No Sheila drowning Lauren in the hot tub? No Sheila holding the Forrester family at their home and then 'killing' herself? If that wasn't shocking, I don't know what is. No Brooke unhooking Stephanie's ventilator? No Stephanie giving Brooke a gift wrapped suicide gun? No Stephanie strangling Brooke with the phone cord? Whoever selected these clearly needed my help.

Not that the episdoes they included...

DVD SHEILA CARTER OF BOLD AND BEAUTIFUL
I totally agree with you and where is sheila carter episodes and I really disappointed and I really want to suggest to edit a special DVD OF SHEILA CARTER.

"A Good Start For The Most Popular Serial In The World On DVD"
There are 15 episodes in this collection of the CBS award-winning daytime drama "The Bold and the Beautiful", a first in which fans can actually watch in the comfort of their own homes the series on DVD. What for me was surprising was the fact that very little, if any, promotion was given for this set by the soap mags and the on-line soap opera websites that I visit daily. This really is a true gem and I love it.

The episodes deal with many classic stories, mostly complied from the last 10 years of the show including Eric and Stephanie's daughter Felicia having cancer, the revelation by hunky Ridge that his true love Taylor was indeed alive and the battle over Forrester Creations by brothers Ridge and Thorne.

Hopefully if this set sells well enough Bell-Phillip Television productions (owner of the serial) will dive into their archives and release by editions. Love to see the beginning of the Stephanie/Brooke rivalry and the appearance of the campy and wonderful...

Episode 1: A Dry Copy of An Already Dry Original
My fiancee and I found ourselves watching Oddities (the original) simply due to our regular favorites being out of Season. While it was slow, formulaic and sometimes a little stuffy, it was also relatively unconventional and the shop owners had a very low-key charm we grew to really appreciate and look forward to in each show. When we saw Oddities San Fransico was out we were elated, because we had thought it would really take the first one and push the limits with a new direction and and we had high hopes for brighter personalities. That's a lot of expectations for the first episode, certainly, but the precedent was already set so we felt it was warranted.

To our dismay, this was not the case whatsoever. There are absolutely no improvements to the show, regardless the new shop. The first episode was as boring all the way through as any worst five minutes of it's predecessor. The Oddities formula was in full pitch, making it feel familiar; but unfortunately with the shop...

In looking up the "Carry On" group of films on the internet, I learned a couple of things, namely this particular group of actors did most all of the films. Sanctuary - The Complete Fourth Season [Blu-ray]

Disappointed
"Sanctuary" is one of the coolest concepts currently on television, but sadly its fourth season for me was a complete mess.

It has been a hundred and some years since Helen Magnus (Amanda Tapping) has set foot in the Victorian era, but her pursuit of the diabolical Adam Worth has sent her cascading through time into the streets of London in the 1890's. Drawing no end of attention due to her modern attire and strange weapons, Helen is held temporarily by the police and released into the custody of her best friend of the era, James Watson (Peter Wingfield). Known in later years as the inspiration for the literary figure of Sherlock Holmes, it does not take Watson long to deduce that this dark-haired incarnation of Helen is a "future" Helen... and that her presence in the past may disrupt the initial timeline. That is the intention of Adam, who has returned to the past in order to save his daughter from death. But any misstep will change future events... a fact Helen is very...

Best.Sanctuary.Ever.
If you liked Torchwood but find this show far too middle of the road, you might like this episode, if you watch the whole thing. Kudos to Amanda Tapping for putting forward a world that includes everybody, not just people who liked Richard Dean Anderson in a uniform, back in the SG days. Downside: this might be their last season. If so, they did it right.

I was not a fan of the show initially but gave it a chance while Tapping's last-century accent stabilized and they found their stride. It was all redeemed with this episode, for me.

To those who find the ending out of context, watch it all from the start again. It is a story that is told many times in many ways, but it isn't told the way y'all are taught to expect.

Five stars.

Bold moves, exciting new turns!
I have never agreed with all the writers choices, nor do I think any fan will. Looking at season 4 as a whole through a formalistic lens, it was pretty amazing. Very rarely was I ever truly disappointed with an episode. There are lots of things that would have made my fan girl heart very happy that didn't happen, but it's their story to tell, not mine. I still enjoyed the ride immensely.

The great thing about this season was it's utter unpredictability, which arguably makes it one of the best. The writers and directors made very bold choices and took big risks this season, most paying off in spades. I feel this season took itself a little more seriously, not to say they didn't have their fair share of fun. "Monsoon" was an incredibly entertaining classic action hero story with references to Die Hard and James Bond. "Chimera" was a distinctive episode in that it was one of the most hilarious episodes I've seen whilst at the same time being very dark and creepy. With only a...

This series is excellent. It's fine to see that the British, most of them I think, appreciate their history and traditions. Elizabeth II has been an exemplary representative of Britain for more than 60 years now.

Brock is a strong willed behemeth and in the show he offends his own guys more than the other team does. It was funny after 1 of the wins for brock he gives a victory speech that comes off more like a curse and messes with the mental space of his team. Perfection in Tap dance instruction
Buster Brown's "Laura" is yet another award-winning tap Dance DVD in the "Tapping With the Masters" series (I have all and am a committed "member" in this tap dance club). I feel honored that Ms. Frank would share this routine through the feet of Mr. Sam Weber.

The instant this DVD became available (I happened to be online at the time) I hit the "order" key! I've waited years to learn this routine. While I understand the thrill of learning in person, having the DVD in my possession and learning at my convenience is invaluable. Not only am I getting the routine, but history, sidenotes, footnotes and interviews. My first two days with the DVD were spent watching, absorbing and beginning to learn the routine. Mr. Weber teaches in a familiar/easy manner that I learned back in the `40s. Yes, this a routine for all ages. Admittedly it may take me a tad longer to learn, but that's my preferred method made possible through these DVDs. I simply love having the time to inhale all the...

The Ultimate fighter is no ordinary reality show. This show is a story is about a sport of strength, emotion, strategy and the overall drive to push ones-self beyond personal limitations. It is the dream of so many young and men to compete in front of millions of people getting paid to do what they love.
The Ultimate Fighter is based around the relatively new sport of Mixed Martial Arts (MMA). This Is The End [HD]

We need real back into reality...
Seriously? Can we stop the drama and get back to discovering what people who live in the mountains do to survive? Let's see the gardens, the process of putting food up, how to skin a beaver, what they do in the evenings, how do they relate to their families...not silly (looking much like contrived) situations. For example...with a cameraman present, it was doubtful Marty would freeze or dehydrate to death. Just way too hokey as it stands. Maybe season 2 will be better.

Major dramatic moments: Lost dog, late husband, kid who doesn't put tools away.
I was altogether disappointed with this series. Only about 20% of the camera-time is spent on interesting happenings, the other 80% is spent on filler air-time accompanied by desperate yet futile effort to make life seems dangerous, interesting, and dramatic. Yet when you've finished an episode, and reflect back on it - you swiftly realize that during that 30 minutes episode.... nothing actually happened.

silly
This show is supposed to be about "mountain men". But its not.

Tom Oar is a retired guy living with his wife in a very nice house in a very remote area of Montana. He hunts and he heats his home with wood. He has reasonably close neighbors. But they make him look like a fool by playing some game where he is supposedly going out in the woods to "scare" the wolves up higher into the mountains and away from his property. Someone also might want to tell him that butchering animals outside close to the house will tend to attract animals. But he probably already knows that.

Marty Meierotto is a fur trapper in Alaska. He runs traplines alone in a remote part of Alaska. He is the real deal, but the show makes him look silly. Every trap on the show is empty (for obvious reasons) and they keep making him look like he is so incompetent that he can't even ride a snowmobile on a packed trail without crashing. The whole mountain man thing doesn't quite work because he commutes...

These Kids are Wacky!
I used to live in Portland, kind of get the self-conscious posturing of Portland denizens; kind of phony, but at heart sincere and well-intentioned. Carrie and Fred have nailed the lifestyle-I remember waiting in line for an hour for famous pancakes that supposed to be organic, natural and healthy, but were as dense as corrugated iron. Enjoy the easy-going spoofing and seeing the sites of Portland-it really is a beautiful place.

Still funny but not as good as season one
What I love about this show is there isn't one second that isn't outright silliness.

There is so much comedic creativity here. The two lead characters even do gender reversals with the woman dressed as a man with his girlfriend in her red wig played by the man. And they do it so well including the voices, that it's easy to forget who is whom and just laugh.

The people are all whacky, the situations are all outlandish, and the entire city apparently is off kilter. I can't wait to go there after watching this. While this is extreme craziness I do feel that there is a lot of truth here about how Portland actually is after knowing some charming delightful people from there. I was wondering if it was just this particular group of friends that seemed funnier than people I know on the east coast or what but now I'm thinking it's a funny place in general.

This show keeps the spacey hipster goofiness coming at you non stop. It seems like the initial burst of...

An Intense Four Part Heist Drama: There's No Such Thing As A Perfect Crime
This four part British series about a heist gone wrong starts out so strong, it's difficult to maintain the incredible initial intensity throughout. But anyone who likes contemporary crime drama should definitely check out "Inside Men." This series has a refreshingly hard edge. Its central protagonists are not unscrupulous villains, but ordinary men looking for a shortcut to a better life. When discovered by their supervisor (Steven Mackintosh), his response is not what they would have predicted. Soon these three "inside men" are plotting a scheme that will net them millions! And as you might expect, it's not easy to plan the perfect crime.

The narrative is divided into two timelines that alternate back and forth within a given episode. The series starts in the midst...

Good Yarn
Took a while to get my neck back in shape LOL Set up and actual action are part of a Flashback theam for this movie. Movie arrived quicker than expected, packed with care, No problem viewing. Good yarn, Stars could have been "stronger" less deep thinkers. Action could have been higher. Pleasant Sunday afternoon killer for a stormy day.

Nevada v. Riley

Love this show!!!
This show was entertaining and unexpected. The characters were great. Jim Belushi and Jerry O'Connell interacted well. There are a bit of humor interjected appropriately to break up the drama. Its a shame they didn't renew this show.

MRS. (Mistakes Rescue Seminar) FITNESS

Mrs. Fitness
I got to see this gentleman speak in person several years ago. He was good then, but this DVD is much better. He is so funny that I couldn't stop laughing. This is the best professional speaker I think I've ever seen because I've never heard any of this stuff before. Most speakers are so boring that I usually just fall asleep, but I'd listen to him over and over again. I can't wait to read his book!

Speak of the Devil

good for a piece of history. But....
Its nice that this show has finally been released on DVD. The stage set is a historic one and great to be preserved on video. Just a shame that it wasn't filmed with Randy Rhoads on lead guitar, who just missed this filming. How great would that have been.

The good: the stage set and show. Tommy Aldridge on drums. Rudy Sarzo on bass (although he has a one-dimensional stage presence, just bobbing his head and licking his fingers...it does get old after awhile). Brad Gillis does a good job on guitar, considering how fast he was thrown in there and had to learn the complex material. His guitar tone gets annoying after awhile, but he's still fun to watch. Also the camera doesn't dart all over the place a gazillion times a minute like alot of newer filmed concerts do. (i dont' know why they insist on editing alot of newer concerts that way...they're nearly unwatchable because of it).

Now for the bad: For anyone that thinks Ozzy sounds good....those vocals have been...

Great concert, glad it's being officially released
This is an old school Ozzy concert. Following the death of Randy Rhoads, Ozzy recruited Bernie Torme to play guitar, but that didn't last terribly long. To fill out the rest of the concert dates, Ozzy brought in Brad Gillis to play guitar with the band that was already in place. The lineup here is:

Ozzy Osbourne - Vocals
Brad Gillis - Guitar
Rudy Sarzo - Bass
Tommy Aldridge - Drums
Don Airey - Keyboards
John Allen - The Dwarf (hey, it's in the credits!)

When you look at all the combinations that have been in Ozzy's solo band over the years, this one isn't usually rated terribly high. I don't know why, because I thought this was an underrated combination. Given the year this was recorded (1982), the track listing is solely off Ozzy's first two solo albums, and the usual handful of Black Sabbath tracks thrown in there. I suppose the backlash against this lineup came later on, because I remember when this first came out, it was all...

Speak of the Devil DVD, Finally Official
I'm giving this five stars because of its historical and nostalgic value, and for the amazing performance of the band. The overdubbing on Ozzy's vocals would pull it down to a four if not for the quality of the whole package, which documents heavy metal at its glorious 1980's best.

This concert was recorded June 12, 1982 during the Diary of a Madman tour, less than three months after the death of Randy Rhoads. It's not the same as the CD version, featuring mostly songs from Ozzy's first two solo albums. Ozzy delivered the goods to the crowd at Irvine Meadows in California, bellowing and running around the stage like a...well, a madman...jumping up and down, clapping and headbanging relentlessly. He deserves credit for pulling off the rest of that tour after such a terrible tragedy.

Brad Gillis, Rudy Sarzo, Tommy Aldridge, and Don Airey are all spectacular backing up the Ozz-man. The performance of Gillis is nothing less than stunning. His solo after Suicide...

Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood - Complete Collection Two

A Truly Superlative Series
Note: This is a review for the entire Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood anime, not for this particular volume of the set.

For the past several years, I had considered the original Fullmetal Alchemist to be my favorite anime of all time. It featured everything that I loved most about the genre: driven young protagonists, a fantastical and vibrant fictional world, a coherent set of combat mechanics, dynamic fight sequences, gorgeous animation, a well-thought-out and complete plot, and darker, more mature themes. Thus, when I heard that the series was being remade to more closely reflect Hiromu Arakawa's original manga series (which I have not read), I was excited to see the result. Could the full story written by the creator of the Fullmetal Alchemist universe manage to outdo the already-phenomenal anime that was more loosely based on her work?

The two answers to this question, I am happy to declare, are yes and hell yes. Although it gets off to a slightly uneven...

A Stupendous Ending to the Finest TV Show Ever Made
Calling Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood the greatest anime of all time does it a disservice; it is simply the finest television show ever created. The second half of the series, which composes this collection, is a perfect combination of a fascinating plot, fully fleshed-out characters, plot twists, and suspense. FMA: Brotherhood is equaled by no other.

The Most Fulfilling Anime Series You'll Watch
It's very rare for an anime series to have a complete and fulfilling finale. This series outshines the majority of what is out there in depth, consistency, and true closure for characters and plot lines. This is a fine series and should be watched by many people. I am hoping that one day this series (I really only consider this anime series rather than the first since this one is manga canon) gets the recognition and publicity it deserves because it is excellent. I think it would make a great live action series for a major network like HBO or Showtime to persue. It's so powerful!

IRT Deadliest Roads: Season 2

Spectacular New Location, Same Dangerous Driving: Giving Fans What They've Come To Expect
We've seen the original Ice Road Trucker franchise travel through the arctic territories of Canada and Alaska since 2007. With the "IRT Deadliest Roads" adaptation, the first season took us to some of the poorest non-icy road conditions in India. To up the stakes for Season Two, veteran stars Hugh, Rick and Lisa take us to picturesque South American for hours of navigation among cliff tops and jungle passages. After so many seasons, in one variation or another, of the IRT brand--I'm not sure it's necessary to explain the concept of the show to someone shopping this DVD, so I won't. What I will say, though, is that the Andes mountain range offers spectacular new challenges as well as incredible visual delights. The environment itself is so different from anything our truckers have faced on screen, so the setting plays just as much a role (if not more) than the incidental drama. The location footage is a major selling point. Other than that, your enjoyment of the show depends on...

IRT is introduced to the Andes!!!
I have followed the Ice Road Truckers series quite carefully and was delighted to buy the second season of Deadliest Roads. Watching this makes your hands feel sweaty and clinging to the side of your armrest as you see the dangers of these roads that the truckers take through the Andes of Bolivia while they deliver critical cargo to poor villages. I must also wonder what kind of money they were offered to take these risks on the mountainous roads because danger is awaiting around every corner and each trucker is unable to even relax from their rigid stances behind the wheel.
The first trips introduce the truckers to hairpin turns on paths barely wide enough to even fit their trucks on, hugging the mountainside and sending rocks tumbling off the edge over drop-offs of at least 2000 feet high into rivers and rocks below. The roads prove too much to two of our veteran truckers--Dave Redmon, who faces severe brake failures in the end while riding with Lisa Kelly, and Rick Yemm, who...

Need More
As a driver who logs 60k or more each year, I am amazed at the insanity of the roads they're on!

I can't get enough of these guys!!!

Need more seasons!

Flotsam & Jetsam: Live In Phoenix

Old -School Thrash Metal From the Fiery Forge of Phoenix
For a band whose greatest claim to fame is "Metallica bassist Jason Newsted's original band", Flotsam and Jetsam have managed to survive two decades in the ever-evolving world of heavy metal. Longtime fans (like myself) will appreciate the set list as it contains at least one track from each of the band's albums. Here Flotsam is captured in fine form on their home turf of Phoenix, AZ in a dim, smoky, club atmosphere. If you are looking for a high gloss, ultra-professional video then you will be disappointed. But if you dig the claustrophobic feel of a sweaty, poorly ventilated, club-circuit dive then you will feel right at home. Original vocalist Eric A.K. does a respectable job but has trouble with some of the banshee screams from the band's earlier material. Senior guitarist Ed Carlson plows thru Flotsam's early thrash-metal songs (No Place for Disgrace, Hammerhead) just as capably as their later prog-metal offerings (Swatting at Flies, Me). Pot-bellies and receeding...

Wasn't what I expected ...
One of the best and underated metal band of all time... I wasn't too happy with the song lineup.. There could of been a bunch more tunes added.. Eric AK can still sing and hit the high notes (dont believe the other review) but he obviously is not "into" the show and actually seems to be bored with it. Thats just the impression I get. I just wish these guys would find a decent label that will give them the proper exposure because all of their albums are great.. I wasn't much into the last 2 too much but hopefully their upcoming album (Dreams Of Death) will give them the proper exposure they deserve.

bad editing
Huge Flotsam fan here. The performance is great, but, there's way too much camera movement for my taste. I like to be able to focus on the band members for at least a few seconds at a time. Seems to be a trend with metal dvd's. For some reason they think a fast tempo song has to have insane camera movement. Drives me crazy. Once in a Deathtime is much better, I have to say. Looking forward to their new studio record.

Fractale - The Complete Series (Limited Edition Blu-ray/DVD Combo)

A Superb Set of a Flawed but Brilliant Anime
Note: I got this from another source ten days before official release to my immense surprise.

Funimation pulled out all the stops for this wonderful box set of Fractale. Set over 1000 years from now, a future utopia is decaying as the Fractale system begins to fail. A classic tale of a naive boy pulled into events beyond his experience begins when a sad eyed girl falls into young Clain's life. Initially cheery and bright, this complex anime series becomes progressively darker and emotional. Often acid in its social commentary, this is not a show for those wanting mindless entertainment. I recommend it to serious science fiction fans and anyone who enjoys a well crafted anime. It has its flaws, but the sum total of its parts made this my favorite anime of all time.

The box set itself is impressive. A glossy and sturdy slip case holds two Blu-ray cases, one for the DVD's and the other for the Blu-rays. Each disc has distinct artwork so you will not mix them up...

Doppels...yes, they are a bit..odd..
But don't let them put you off from checking this show out. Fractale has the story and the characters to keep going for many episodes. In fact, it is a shame it is so short.

To give you an idea without ruining much. The story sets in a distant future. The internet has advanced in a massive way and is referred to as the Fractale System. Most people in the world are hooked on it to the point they spend their lives in it rather than in the real world. Doppels are what you would call, the person's avatar in the real world. For those that choose to live more in the real world but take advantage of the Fractale System's benefits, they can view relatives or friends as Doppels.

That all might sound a bit complicated but really the concepts are simple once you get into the story. Fractale is very much a utopia society and like most, it isn't perfect no matter how hard it is portrayed to be perfect. During the course of this series you will discover that and see that not...

A Very Unique Anime
Fractale was introduced in the 22nd century to promote a peaceful society. It is a network containing billions of computers. Humanity has become complacent and lives their lives through doppelgangers. Very few actually live their lives with their real bodies. Clain is a young man that lives with a fascination of old technology. One day, he meets a girl named Phryne. She is a priestess of Fractale, which has now become controlled by a religious cult. She disappears and leaves Clain a pendant. Out from the pendant comes a cheery girl named Nessa. The connection between Nessa and Phryne is a mystery, but they are very important to the future of Fractale, and are pursued aggressively. The 3 are reunited and join a group of anti-Fractale freedom fighters. With their new friends, they discover the truth, and start a war to liberate humanity from the tyrannical Fractale "religion".

This anime is very interesting. At first it seems like something that Miyazaki would come up with...

CSN 2012 [DVD + 2 CD version]

The good and the not-so good
The good:
(1) David and Graham's lead vocals sound strong and clear.
(2) Stephen's guitar playing is TOP NOTCH. The man's lead guitar burns away and he plays with a fire and conviction of a master.
(3) Kick-butt backing band. Great drumming and a tight ensemble sound
(4) Good value for the dollar. Two CDs and one DVD for less than $20.00.

The not-so good:
(1) Stephen's voice is shot. As a huge Stills fan, this is a painful reality for me to accept. His harmonies waver a lot too.
(2) Because Stills' harmonies aren't spot-on, Crosby and Nash's vocalizing suffers too whenever Stills is part of the mix. Having seen C&N as a duo, they sound much better without Stills.
(3) The new songs, "Radio" and "Almost Gone" are nothing special and tend to meander. Their cover of "Girl From The North Country" is so-so, as well. It helps explain perhaps why the covers album project was shelved.

Go To Best Buy...
...and get the Blu-ray version of CSN 2012, available with the 2 CD's of the concert, only available at Best Buy, and it is less expensive than the Blu-ray alone from Amazon (sorry Amazon!).

Still listening to it (audio version on my computer) for the first time, but definitely agree with the other reviewers. Stills' voice is no longer what it once was, but it's better than it's been, C&N sound great, the band is awesome, and I love that they reached into the Manassas catalog for some of Stills' best writing.

Long live CSN! Really wish they would finish the covers album.

Better Than Ever !!!!!!
This set is the best. They sound as good and even better than ever. The band is great and the harmonies are robust and full. There are 25 songs on the DVD including some new ones - there are some long standards that may be missing such as Delta but that makes room for songs that are rarely performed in concert. There are interviews with the band and CSN. I bought it today at Best Buy for 16.99. Someone made mention of the audio but believe me the material and performances overcome the means. Stills sounds better than he has in years and also looks like he lost weight as does David Crosby. It appears they may be taking better care of themselves. Hopefully this will help them stay around longer. The two CD's of the material are the big bonus here. A great bargain for one of the best groups to last through so many years. Love IT !

Just Another Day...

Best. Show. Ever!
This is one of the few shows I look forward to each new season. My spouse, who hates SciFi, LOVES Eureka. It's one of the only shows we truly enjoy together. And, THE ONLY SciFi show neither of us can wait for. We're heartbroken when each season comes to a close. I don't even want to know how we're going to feel when the credits role on the final episode, this season.

I doubt any of the cast or crew read these posts, but, just in case, I want to say, "Thank you!"

THANK YOU for making FIVE wonderfully fun seasons of this fun, imaginative, and completely unique show. You have made a fantastic program that you should be incredibly proud of for years to come. I will look forward to seeing the talented cast members in new shows, on other networks. You have made a raving fan out of me, and my spouse.

But, alas, I will miss not seeing you all in Eureka each summer.

Thank you! Thank you! Thank you!

Forever a fan...
Julie...

No.... They can't cancel Eureka!!!
This show has been my favorite, I can't believe they canceled it! The show let one's self escape their lives for the duration of an episode, yet still making you think and challenge one's brain with the science. I will miss not being able to watch Sheriff Carter deal with the antics of a town of super geniuses. I will miss this series very much! );

No, tell me it ain't so !
I fell for this show after watching the 1st couple episodes(season 1) on syfy. Now after ONLY 5 seasons they decide to pull the plug on the show. This show could have gone on longer than night court's run of what 8-9 seasons, as it's got quality writing & acting, and a unique storyline! I will seriously miss this show, as most of what is on t.v. today you couldn't make me watch the garbage their showing at gunpoint.I guess I 'll have to content myself by watching my collections of Johnny Carson, Night Court, Cheers,Miami Vice, and now also R.I.P. House. Quality cable & broadcast shows are a dying breed, especially the origional idea shows that aren't a copy of someone elses earlier shows.R.I.P. Eureka!

Hobson's Choice

"Hobson's Choice" Is My Choice
A charming romance that has been one of my favorites from the first time it aired on TV. Sharon Gless and Richard Thomas show that the basis for a relationship doesn't have to be fire and passion, but understanding of each others needs. This film will make you feel good for the times when life was a little less complicated.

a study in characters
I just finished watching this movie. Although it is not the most well-done movie (it IS from the 80s after all), I was hooked almost immediately. The action starts right at the beginning of the film with Maggie's outlandish idea. It is a study in characters to see the growth of Maggie from the dominant one to quietly supportive housewife and Will from the timid one to taking his lead as husband. The affection that grows between them is charming.

Hobson's Choice
inferior recording. Sometimes freezes up or no sound or pixals. Then sometimes it works very well. Still like the movie though.

Sarah Jane Adventures Series 5 [Blu-ray]

A Fond Farewell to Sarah Jane Adventures
This is the last filmed series of episodes of 'The Sarah Jane Adventures' before Elisabeth Sladen's unexpected death in April 2011. I'm glad to see that not only did BBC broadcast this final group of episodes, but has made them available around the world on DVD to fans of Miss Sladen and the show.

In this release we will get 16:9 (1.78:1), Dolby Digital 2.0 stereo sound and English subtitles. The lone extra is "Goodbye Bannerman Road - Remembering Elisabeth Sladen" which is a twenty-minute tribute to Miss Sladen by those that worked with her on the series, including current 'Doctor Who' star Matt Smith. Sadly, the "My Sarah Jane" special that aired on CBBC shortly after Miss Sladen's death is not included.

Series 5 consists of six episodes (out of the originally planned twelve), which make up three stories: "Sky," "The Curse of Clyde Langer," and "The Man Who Never Was." New character Sky didn't have much time to develop due to the shortened amount of episodes...

We will miss you Miss Sarah Jane Smith
I still get tears in my eyes over the loss of Elisabeth Sladen. As a long time fan of the original Doctor Who (I started with Tom Baker's Fourth Doctor and his best-loved companion, fiesty reporter Sarah Jane Smith.) The Sarah Jane Smith Adventures was one of the better spin-offs I've seen (how could it be less? It was Doctor Who and Sarah Jane Smith), more child-friendly but often just as exciting as the also-wonderful Torchwood. Even though it was meant for a far younger audience than I, I found it a hugely entertaining series and looked forward to each release on DVD (unfortunately after the first season, none of my television channels carried it so I was forced to wait). Losing Ms. Sladen felt almost like losing a childhood friend, and I was so glad they released the last episodes. She was always Sarah Jane, always fiesty, always couragous, and always a lady.

Goodbye Sweet Sarah Jane....Season 5
Elisabeth Sladen was a lovely person and an actor that i always looked forward to seeing on her show "The Sarah Jane Adventures".. To me she felt more like part of my family.
She seemed more like a mom (a very cool mom)that i could watch from episode to episode knowing she and her kids would save the day or the world in many cases..I knew that would happen and that made me feel good inside...I cried when i heard she had died..as i believe many others cried, too. This last bit of (Sarah Jane)...Elisabeth Sladen is all we will ever get...it is excellent..as i expected it to be...Sarah Jane Season 5...is goodbye....and i am glad i have it...given to me by a friend..I'll buy another on Amazon.com....and i am sad the adventures are over...Goodbye Elisabeth....Goodbye Sarah...

The Way Ahead

WONDERFUL BRITISH FILM
The Way Ahead is Excellent piece of British Film Making,documentary-like and has shows the evolution of some stalwart civilians being educated in the tactical principles of battle in North Africa. It is filled with important star performances and highlights teamwork and togetherness in the war effort. The Director Sir Carol Reed succinctly captures the spirit of the events.

Strangely this 1.33:1 film has been matted to a 960 anamorphic transfer while maintaining the original aspect ratio 4.3. Hence there are thick black bars on the side edges. The resulting image is in-and-around 720 pixels wide. The dual-layered image comes from an impressive source. Contrast is reasonably strong and detail surprisingly good. There isn't any intrusive damage and only minor speckles deviating from a pristine smooth appearance. In a couple of words Superb Transfer.

Thanks VCI.

Wonderful Movie
Above average example of wartime "morale" movies that the British somehow did so well.If you are a movie buff you will recognize the excellent support players by sight if not by name. I know I am generalizing but I have often wondered why British productions (even on t.v.)have such a stock of wonderful male/female actors as compared to U.S. productions which seem stocked with average acting ability/pretty faces. Is it the number of productions produced every year? Anyway, this is a wonderful flick!

Keeping that stiff upper lip - David Niven's stirring WWII propaganda film
How do you become a looked-to leader of men without it fluffing up your ego? In THE WAY AHEAD (released in the United States as THE IMMORTAL BATTALION) David Niven embodies that very quality, playing an unassuming, quietly self-assured Army lieutenant who toughens up his batch of whiny conscripted malcontents and eventually converts them into efficient military fighting men. As a nod to verisimilitude, David Niven at the time was, in real life, a wartime Rifle Brigade Major when he was approached about a film project promoting the British Army. Accordingly, Carol Reed's 44-minute-long, 1943 training film THE NEW LOT was expanded into this involving 1944 war drama. And since Carol Reed also helms this one, it was bound to not suck. And if you've only ever seen the severely edited U.S.-released THE IMMORTAL BATTALION, you should get your mitts on this one. THE WAY AHEAD is half an hour longer and so fleshes out the narrative more.

I remember reading a brief WWII anecdote...

First A Girl

New RESTORED print of this gem of a 30s musical -the inspiration for "Victor/Victoria"
First off, when reading the reviews for this film here on Amazon please NOTE THE DATE of the review. Amazon has a policy of grouping ALL releases of ALL prints of a film together. I noted that there are reviews from 2008 talking about inferior prints. Not so any longer. Read on...

I was not familiar with the film or Jessie Matthews for that matter until this DVD arrived from VCI. As their title page on all their DVDs (when you start one) "Good movies never go out of style". And that is certainly the case with this one. It was the film that inspired Blake Edwards hit musical film "Victor/Victoria" and the Broadway musical of that name. But this was made in 1935.

It is a true delight and anyone who loves the 1930s musicals directed by Busby Berkeley will want this. No, Berkeley didn't direct it but there are plenty of production numbers and the number "I can Do Anything With You" uses the kind of special effects that Berkeley was famous for and has LOTS of gorgeous...

Jessie Matthews is Charming!
During the 1930s, the charming dancer Jessie Matthews was known as the "Queen of the British musical". She was to the British cinema what Eleanor Powell was to American movie audiences.

Unfortunately, for a various reasons, this talented performer never worked in Hollywood films, and her delightful musicals have not been made available on DVD to audiences in the USA...until now.

As part of their Rank Collection, VCI Entertainment has released Ms. Matthews' FIRST A GIRL (1935), which, years later, served as the basis for Blake Edward's VICTOR/VICTORIA starring Julie Andrews.

FIRST A GIRL is a fun, extremely entertaining movie with some enjoyable songs (e.g. "Everything's In Rhythm With My Heart"). The dance numbers are also quite spectacular, sort of Busby Berkeley light.

Matthews is marvelous as the young woman, who pretends to be a man in order to play a woman on stage, where she is a major nightclub star, and her real-life husband,...

I enjoyed it
It was enjoyable although it was not as entertaining or as funny as Victor/Victoria. I'll be adding it to my collection of older films.

Eureka: The Complete Series (Amazon Exclusive)

great series, rediculous price
The current price for the individual sets is currently approximately $135, so why is the full set priced at $224???

Update, 7/30/2013: After months of the $224 price, the finally did lower it to $130-$135 range. Even then, it's still overpriced. The current prices for the individual series add up to approximately $115. The set is less of a ripoff than before, yet it is still overpriced...

Great Show, but buy it cheaper
I love this show, and I am completely disappointed it got cancelled. My boyfriends family got me into it this spring, then one by one I got my family into it too. I wish I would've been able to see the new episodes they were planning, but the ending is justifiable and pleasing considering the time allowed on it.

A few days ago this set was selling on Amazon for about $93. I came back after I deposited my check and now it's $175. Waaay too expensive. The cheapest I found these DVD's are at Wal-Mart. Yes, you have to purchase them individually but you can also receive free site to store or free ship to home (if qualified). Below are the prices of the DVD's online, just to save you time because I know some people won't look or they forget.

Season 1 or: $14.96 (in bundle)
Season 1 HD: $26.96

Season 2 or: $14.96
Season 2 HD: $28.96 (in bundle)

Season 3: $14.96 (in bundle)
Season 3.5: $14.96 (in bundle)
Season 4: $14.96...

LOVE this show... but why is the collection so much?
I absolutely love this show, but the price for this bundle ($175) seems really high, and if you purchase all the seasons separately, as this collection says it has in it, the total for all the individuals in the same cart is like $125. so why is this more expensive? It doesn't seem to have any additional content than the sum of all the separate seasons, so why would you spend an extra $50? I recommend just spending the extra 5 minutes or so to add all the separate seasons to your cart and buy them that way.

Bonanza: The Complete Third Season

The Best Yet!
There's been many a time that I was tired of waiting and wanted to order these episodes from another source, but watching them now in full living color as I first saw them so many years ago Sunday nights on NBC makes me glad that I waited.

BONANZA is one of the greatest television series of all time, and this set is an excellent example of why. I won't comment on the quality of the many outstanding episodes as far as story, acting, direction, etc. (because all that goes without saying), but I will say if all you know of BONANZA is edited episodes you've seen on TV Land or time-compressed episodes on MeTV, or other broadcast or computer sources, you are missing out.

Each episode here is newly restored from original 35mm film materials complete with the original theme song and that beautiful peacock (at the beginning of every episode)! Most every show has extras like extensive photo galleries, and there so many special features and commentaries by performers who...

BONANZA of extras!
Life on the Ponderosa has never been better! Uncut episodes, superior quality image and sound - classic episodes include Springtime, The Burma Rarity, The Tin Badge, The Tall Stranger, The Ride, The Storm, The Wooing of Abigail Jones, The Crucible - featuring "spotlight" episodes for each of the Cartwrights. Season Three was a season of 'firsts': Pernell Roberts sings for the first time in Broken Ballad, and this is when Michael Landon's first script, The Gamble, was filmed. Count me among those who are thankful and appreciative for the "official" releases. No matter what you've seen before - you haven't seen anything until you've seen THESE!

Bonanza Season 3
Another winner! The color is spectacular. It's wonderful to see these programs as they were originally broadcast and not cut and peppered with commercials. And it's so great to again hear interviews, see behind the scenes photos and the other special attractions. Not too many releases of this era have these features. Look forward to the release of Season 4 in October and all future seasons on a timely basis.

Small Mercies

Murders most twisted in Midsomer County
Midsomer Murders is a fine example of British cozy mysteries (inspired by the novels of Caroline Graham), without going over the top on the gore factor. Set in the bucolic English villages in Midsomer County, the murders that occur here(at an alarmingly high rate, one might add) are in stark contrast to the serene beauty of the English countryside. The murders can be grisly, but this is often offset by the scenic country setting, and the witty dialogue (FYI - Amazon Prime members are able to view Midsomer Murders' episodes Seasons 1-10 via instant download for free).

DCI Tom Barnaby (John Nettles) leads a relatively contented life with his wife Joyce (Jane Wymark) and works for the Criminal Investigation Department. Assisted by his detective sergeant, the pair find themselves going all over the county investigating the strangest and at times grisliest murders in little hamlets with innocent sounding names. Tom is a meticulous investigator and an astute observer of human...

Enjoyable and Well Worth Watching!
Season 12 includes a wide variety of murderous events which must be solved by the intrepid team of Tom Barnaby, played by John Nettles, and Ben Jones, played by Jason Hughes. It is a worthy continuation of this fine series of British detective shows which have charmed so many.

Although I would expect those who are reading this to be familiar with the characters and the setting I will briefly summarize the key points about this series. The stories take place in the fictional county of Midsomer, England. The major city in the area is Causton where Detective Chief Inspector Tom Barnaby has his office. Causton is surrounded by a series of around 56 smaller villages where most of the stories take place. The scenery is usually very lovely English villages and countryside which alone is of interest. Tom is married to a patient, and mostly understanding wife named Joyce, played by Jane Wymark, who is fascinated by the lovely villages surrounding Causton. Tom and Joyce have one...

Another excellent season of Midsomer!
I watch TV shows for their characters and decent storylines. Clearly, good acting is important to achieve both of those elements with any panache. As always, Midsomer Murders captures a charming and delightful approach to criminal investigation. Tom Barnaby IS the show, however, and with his departure in season 20 I realized I won't be continuing to buy every season as it comes out on DVD (pre-ordering in fact which I don't do for anything else!). Anyway, back to this season of Midsomer--while there is always an occasional episode that isn't stellar throughout the history of the show, there is never one that is less than enjoyable and if you've liked most of the seasons before this one, you won't be disappointed.

Midsomer has wonderful production values, amazingly well-known special guest stars, and has an elemental of humorous charm in the character of Inspector Tom Barnaby. One of the things I most like about all of the Midsomer seasons is that I can rewatch them and...

Designing Women: The Final Season

"You Must Be the Sugarbakers...I'm Bonnie-Jean Poteet"
This July, one of the most beloved, well-crafted, character-driven sitcoms will finally be complete on DVD thanks to Shout Factory, when Season 7 of "Designing Women" is released.

In 1992 "Designing Women" was coming off its highest ratings in the series' history following the replacement of half the cast, including the show's big breakout character. A remarkable achievement in lieu of the fact that one of the replacements was very poorly received by audiences. The producers decided to let Julia Duffy go because they felt the show was tarnished by such an unlikeable character. In the years since, it seems unanimous that it was the writing and NOT Duffy's performance that caused the backlash.

For Season 7, veteran stage/character actress Judith Ivey was brought in as the now-revolving fourth member of Sugarbakers (rumour has it after Bonnie Hunt turned down the part). As extremely-rich-but-down-to-earth widow B.J. Poteet, Ivey is a terrific addition to the...

The End Is Here.
Not having seen this since it originally aired 20 years ago(!), my memory of this season was, to put it mildly, a little hazy. The only episode I actually remembered was the Gone With The Wind spoof two-parter that served as the show's swan song. My other recollection was that I liked the addition of Judith Ivey and I thought overall that this was a better season than the previous one. So now it feels like I'm watching it again for the first time. And here's what I've deduced.
1) Season Six Was Better. As much as Julia Duffy's character (an extension of her Newhart role) was universally hated, overall I felt Season Six had better stories and better laughs. In contrast the first six episodes of Season Seven are dreadful, but if you make it through those, things definitely improve. And in retrospect, Duffy really wasn't that bad in Season Six, she was simply stuck with an unlikable Suzanne-filler that she couldn't do much with. The character of Carlene was much more successful...

I (unlike many) LOVE the later episodes!
DVD itself came sealed and works as intended with no flaws in viewing. Price of course is always better (OK, almost always better) on Amazon!

The episodes of the final season are probably not regarded as the best in the series, but I truly love the later episodes. The introduction of the charachter BJ and the continuation of Carlene from the season prior are great additions to this season. The feeling of the shows is much more "fun," than prior early seasons when the actors tend to be more business-like for lack of a better term. As they get more and more comfortable with each passing year their characters seems to take on more personality and become increasingly fun and relaxed on each episode, especially Julia and Mary Jo. Very stoic and business oriented, they become increasingly fun and down-to-earth as the series goes on.

I personally love the entire series from season 1 right to the end. This season might not fit everyone's idea of the best season, but I...

Queen & Country [Blu-ray]

Rule, Britannia!
This 2 disc DVD set presents a pretty complete and understandable history of Queen Elizabeth II and of England. Both discs total about 4 hours with English subtitles available. Each disc is divided into 2 parts.
Disc 1 has: London Royal City. It shows the beginnings of Elizabeth's reign, her life in the war years and that of her parents. Traditions, Horse guards, state visits to London, changing the Guard, Buckingham Palace are all covered.
And: A history of the Royal Visits. We are shown royal art, the Queen at Derby, what the Queen's calendar is like, the Braemar games, a visit to Liverpool, her longevity and the future of the monarchy.

Disc 2 contains: The queen's possessions showing the Tower of London, Yeoman Warder's history, the Royal Swans, the story of Jersey, the Queen sitting for a hologram portrait and the Ceremony of the Keys.

I learned a lot about what the Queen does
I first watched this four part sereis on PBS and really liked it a lot. In each episode I learned a lot about what The Queen does and what she is the custodian of. I have known that before she goes on a royal tour, it is thoroughly researched and timed down to the last second. Even though I'm an American, I have the utmost respect for the Queen. I hope she will have a long reign.

QEII
Great, but not excellent. Some of the items were repeats of other DVDs. It is a good review of the Queen we all admire, or at least I admire.
